My Life After College

So a couple of months ago (Like December of 2017) I graduated with my Bachelors of Science in Human Services.  Everyone always tells you graduation is the best day, or you will go on to work in the career field you love and do amazing things. YEAH RIGHT! That's right I call BS. To be honest,  finding a job isn't all that easy. I have literally applied everywhere. Even jobs like McDonald's and still can not get a callback.  It is going on 3 months since I have graduated and so far all I have accomplished is one interview in my career field. I still have yet to hear back, but I have hope. The purpose of this blog post is not to rant and complain, but to merely enlighten people about the struggle of finding that perfect job to jump-start your career after college. And ok a little ranting and complaining about my now dull life.

Since I have graduated I have: moved back in with my mom, got a new car and totaled it before I even had my first payment, shaved my dog, and watched as my sorority sisters go on fun adventures while I stay home applying for literally every job listing on indeed.com Now to some, not everything I just listed sounds that bad right? WRONG! let's start with moving back in with mom. My mom AKA  T-DAWG, is one of those needy moms. And by that, I mean the need to know moms. She wont hesitate to hit me with  "Hey Jess on your way home from work can you buy me a coke? Hey, Jess when will you be home today? Hey Jess how are things with Ryan (my very serious boyfriend)?" It could be 3 am after work, and I will get a call from T-Dawg asking when I'll be home because Barkley misses me. I totally understand the whole check-in thing, but Sometimes I forget. I mean I have been 8 and a half hours away from her for 3 years and never had to inform her that I was going out so forgive me if I forget to do that now right.

I will not go into detail about my accident but merely post a picture and let yall guess how it happened.

The shaving my dog thing was a big deal for Barkley and me. You see I have a Golden Cocker, that is a mix between a Golden Retriever and a Cocker Spaniel. Naturally,  Barkley given his genetic makeup is a fluffy long haired dog. But now, after T-Dawg complained about his shedding, is now more of a hairless cat with super fuzzy ears. How am I supposed to cuddle a hairless cat? The fact is you just don't, well I don't.

As for my sorority sisters, They are my Rock ock ock ock, I mean I spent 3 years with these amazing girls. We all hung out daily, even in the summer, and now I am eight and a half hours away basically alone. I see where they do some of my favorite things like getting ready for Greek-week this month or mixers with other fraternities, and I am going to work, the gym, and home or occasionally the bar with some coworkers after work. So I am a little sad and having just a hard time adjusting back to my old life in the great Mississippi. Now I am sure whoever is reading this is like did you not have friends before you moved? The answer is yes, yes I did. However, It has been 3 years since we talked or hung out. Why would they want to do that now?
